Success Stories
Pumpkin carving is something I was used to witnessing on television every year. My boyfriend and I had a surprisingly long conversation about this and as he was sharing some of his greatest childhood memories of pumpkin carving, I felt like I was missing out when I admitted to him that I had never done such a thing. Heck, the last memory I had of trick-or-treating was more than ten years ago dressed up as an m&m. So my boyfriend and I thought it was a great idea to go ahead and carve my first pumpkin since Halloween was just a few days away! Thanks love, our pumpkins came out lovely! ♥c:
Experience
It was absolutely worth the wait! Its an activity that definitely allows your imagination to roam free! I think I did pretty good for my first pumpkin carving. You're never too old for this, so if you've never carved a pumpkin, try it! :)
Tips
- Have an idea prepared of what you want to carve on the pumpkin, so that you aren't left guessing what size pumpkin would be best.
- Plan on buying carving tools ahead of time if you don't already have them. They were definitely harder to find the closer it got to Halloween.
- Tools like a carving saw can be found at a local dollar store for a dollar and still work very well.
- Lightly drawing a design on the pumpkin with a black ink pen is recommended as it can be erased with a wet cloth or wipes.
- Do not rush the process.
- Be careful when sawing out the design, you might have to saw through it a couple of times.
- The job can get messy, so keep cleaning and sanitizing materials on hand.
