The Siberian Husky (Russian: Сибирский хаски) is a medium size working dog breed that originated in north-eastern Siberia, Russia.[2] The breed belongs to the Spitz genetic family.[3] It is recognizable by its thickly furred double coat, erect triangular ears, and distinctive markings.
The original Siberian Huskies were bred by the Chukchi people — whose hunter-gatherer culture relied on their help. It is an active, energetic, resilient breed, whose ancestors lived in the extremely cold and harsh environment of the Siberian Arctic. William Goosak, a Russian fur trader, introduced them to Nome, Alaska during the Nome Gold Rush, initially as sled dogs. The people of Nome referred to the Siberian Huskies as "Siberian Rats" due to size and weighing 40 to 50 pounds when compared to the Malamute dogs.
I love dogs. I have always wanted one of my own. I prefer small dogs-like a "terrier". One that's extremely smart, obedient, travels well, and not to vocal -"a barker".
Less than two years ago, I was surprised to receive a call from a relative who just got a pup and was not able to keep her. I renamed her at 17 weeks old. After a character in one of my favorite British shows- "Luisa" on "Doc Martin"! She is the best thing that ever happened to me, and I love her so much! She's a yorkiepoo-sweet, not a barker, very obedient, easily trained, she travels everywhere with me and a little diva!
