Hiking takes you so many places you never would never find in a guidebook. If you can, go where the paths don't take you! We crossed rivers by felled trees, marshes and shattered rocky coastline. We had lunch on an island in the middle of river at the base of a waterfall. It's such a fulfilling experience.
Breath-taking view up-top the Balsam mountain balds in North Carolina. Went here for Spring break and I definitely have found a new hobby, everyone should try this at least once. It was definitely harder to breathe and I even felt like I had ran a marathon as I was walking up the mountain, but taking short breaks helped. The view was amazing. March is a wonderful time to hike here (perfect weather). Will hike again very soon!
Hiking without Camping, I mean.
Went on January 25, 2014 with my lovely friend Adilen. Didn't stretch long enough and underestimated our trail, so I was sore for a whole week, and got sick too. Body died, but it was a great hike. Went to Mission Peak in Fremont.
Afterwards, we ate at a buffet. hahaha
First wanted to go see Morskie oko, even tho google maps said it's 4 hours of walk, apparently it was over 7 hours, thanks to the Austrian old man that told us it would take too long. We got to the black pond though, and i dipped my feet in ice cold water. Stopped in a hiking station, 1500 m alt., nice friendly atmosphere. On way back i sprained my muscle, hooray.
I've been hiking plenty of times before.
There seem to be two kinds of hikers, typically. The ones who are actually looking for a bit of exercise, and the ones who just want to look at pretty moss and creeks. I am definitely the latter. I appreciate the exercise, but I'll always take the smaller, easier, prettier trails.
Some favorite places I've been: Grandfather Mountain, NC Cougar Mountain, WA Prospect Mountain, NY

Hiking is really difficult and takes a day! but it was fun and seeing the nature, waterfalls even falling was amazing!
It was an eye opening experience and have actually made me mentally stronger when it comes to pushing forward with my fitness goals. I am very lazy and love to eat, but i also exercise a lot.
But hiking outdoors in the hills its a totally different experience from going to the gym. If you're tired in the gym, you can stop the machine and shower straight away. But when you are hiking, even if you are exhausted to the bone, you have to move else you will be left behind. After that experience my approach to diet and fitness is totally different.
I am more stronger mentally and believe i have the discipline to push forward. It also gave me a certain confidence i didn't have before.
Amazing experience. Will definitely do it every week now.
Tomar una caminata en las tardes en el pueblo mas bonito.
Wonderful day trip in Shenandoah National Park. Took my first hike to a waterfall and took wonderful pictures of the mountains and fall foliage. Absolutely beautiful
