Went in '08, on a day trip to Cario/Giza. The people (mostly men) were too creepy. I'm pretty sure i got sexually harrased, but i was too young to realise. My mother got chatted up by an Egyptian guard, who kept asking her if she wanted to touch his gun. Awkward but so funny. The locals ruined the pyramids for me. Inside the second 'mid was small and stuffy, but it had to be done.

Wasn't on my bucket list to start with - I actually went on someone else's bucket list! The pyramids were an awesome experience that rated with me much more than I expected. I think it was the whole area of the Giza Plateau and the fact that we stayed in a place where you could view the Great Pyramid from the roof!

Loved it! They don't let you climb high though... it's all the same though. I really loved it and it stands out as one of my best memories.

I went to Egypt while I was in college. I went on a whirlwind 10 day trip, wishing the entire time that I could stay each place longer. And one day, we did go to the pyramids at Giza and I paid about $10 to go inside the center chamber of the Great Pyramid.

When we first got to Cairo, I was a little disappointed.  We ate at a local hotel, from which we could easily see the Pyramids.  The hotel was full of lush and beautiful vegetation, and it seemed like the Pyramids weren't going to be at all what I expected.  I had envisioned them in the middle of a massive desert with nothing but sand as far as the eye could see, but it seemed more like it was, "and on your left you will see the pyramids."

But then......  Our bus drove us to the Pyramid site and it was EVERYTHING my heart imagined.  Suddenly the proximity to the city disappeared and you were transported to another place and time.  No visitor center, nothing but sand, crazy little vendors set up on rocks here and there in the spacious vast desert.  The Pyramids stood majestic and awe inspiring amid the opening scene of Aladdin.  It was breathtaking, powerful and unforgettable.  I was forever changed.
