I went on my second Boy Scout High Adventure to West Virginia where we did two days of intense hiking and two days of white water rafting. While the hiking was extremely beautiful, it was so hard my friends and I dubbed it "diking" (dumb hiking). Anyways, we rafted with ACE Resort and did some pretty rad class 5's that were pretty intimidating. By the end I think there was a little more than just water in our raft (I might have peed a little). All in all it was a great time and the last high adventure I will get to spend with a lot of good friends. Definitely recommend it. Beware of the MEATGRINDER...

In Fiji, we travelled to Upper Nauva River to go White Water Rafting. My friend & I were put on a raft with a couple from Texas on a holiday break from their kids and Moses was our tour guide. Moses was an amazing tour guide, he gave insight to his culture, childhood and why he loves being a tour guide in White Water Rafting. You learn lots of things from him. We were only on Level 1, which was okay with me at the time because I didn't want to crash. But the views were just amazing and had cute waterfall spots.

Was awesome. Loved it. Want to do something with higher graded rapids though.

I skipped the senior class trip in high school for white water rafting so I generally missed out. I've gone river tubing, but I guess that doesn't really compare.

I organized a small group for Pocono White Water in Jim Thorpe, PA. The staff seemed very well organized and the guides were very helpful and knew what they were doing. One of the people in my group got pretty badly ill early into the trip and the guide captain, Sam (a certified EMT with 10 years at PWW), gave her a field assessment and really went the extra mile to see her to the end.

The rapids were class 2 & 3, and I'm hoping to get the chance to do a class 4 or 5 in the future, though I may have to look elsewhere like Colorado or Washington.

I highly recommend going on a white water adventure!

White water rafting with lots of cool strangers in Costa Rica, our craziest drop was only a 4, but it was awesome! I can't wait to try it again in Colorado!

It was a long day but it was exhilarating and a lot of fun! We all had to work together to stay afloat! I was super glad I got to experience it and make memories! A bunch of people cliff dived and it was a rough trip down the river but beautiful and sunny.

I finally got to go white water rafting which I’ve been wanting to do ever since I saw some people doing it in the Rockies.

I went with a few people from work to the Tryweryn River in Bala, North Wales. It was an overcast day and the water was freezing so I was worried about only having a wetsuit to keep me warm but once we got in the boat and the adrenaline was pumping it was fine! We had a great guide; Addie, who made us all feel confident after going through the safety instructions with us. I was grateful we didn’t end up with the guide our other group got who had only just passed his raft “driving” test that morning and tried to take his group on the water before giving them the safety talk but luckily Addie stopped him! The other instructors called him ‘Simply Barney’ and we could all see why!

Once we were on the water the excitement really kicked in! The river was a level 3 or 4 out of 6 which meant there were some small rapids and a few drops about a metre high which made us all completely soaked from the moment we went down the first one! We got 4 goes at going down the river which meant the 6 of us could all switch places each time and try a new position. When it was my turn to go at the front of the raft we managed to ‘surf’ the wave which is when our raft is facing up river and somehow gets caught in the upsurge of water after a big drop and we get stuck there for a few minutes as the two people at the front (including me!) get splashed by a wave that constantly flows into the front of the raft! At one point I ducked my head down to stop it going straight in my face and got a cold stream of water right down the neck of my wetsuit!

It sounds torturous now but I couldn’t stop laughing! And the photos they took were hilarious! Everyone’s pulling the most dramatic faces in all of them!

I’d definitely love to go again and would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind getting a bit cold and very wet!

Rafting or white water rafting is a challenging recreational outdoor activity using an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. This is usually done on white water or different degrees of rough water, in order to thrill and excite the raft passengers. The development of this activity as a leisure sport has become popular since the mid-1970s. It is considered an extreme sport, as it can be dangerous.

Went rafting on the Tieton River with some friends during the fall flip flop. Floated the Yakima Canyon many times before but this was not a float, while it was not as extreme as I thought it was(Class 2's) going to be, its definitely something that I would like to further pursue.

Went to Bali with friends from High School on what we called a "Leavers Vacation". Went White Water Rafting in Bali- it was so much fun, only problem I didn't pack prepared for White Water Rafting and had to go wearing one of my favourite pairs of flats- they were never the same again!
