I learned Spanish through middle school and high school. Now in college I am learning American Sign Language. Spanish hasn't helped me so much, but I've gone to plenty of Deaf events where I was able to communicate with Deaf people through ASL alone.

I'm a 17 year old girl who basically has an international life. I can fluently speak 4 languages (French, English, Spanish, Arabic). I hope to learn more as I grow up and travel. Being able to speak as many languages at such a young age has enabled me to understand different cultures as I travel but it also opened my mind so much in order to understand the world we live in and how we interact with each other.

I took French classes from 4th grade onwards and in my final year of highschool I lived in a French speaing part of Switzerland. It taught me a lot about French, as well as languages in general. I learned quickly and I learned a lot since I lived in pension housing with a woman who didn't speak any English. In my opinion, if you want to learn a language, you have to immerse yourself in it completely!

I've started learning English when I was 4. My mother language is Spanish and I'm Argentinian. When I was 11 I started going to an English institute. That same year, I took Movers A1 (Level 1 of 6). The next year I took KET A2 (Level 2 of 6). The year after that I took PET B1 (Level 3 of 6). All of them I passed with distinction, that means I'm in level 4. I'm 14 years old and I go to class with people that already finish High School. I still make mistakes like everyone but this personal achievement makes me want to keep improving myself at different languages

Language is a beautifully inefficient form of communication, yet it has led me on one of the most profound adventures in my academic career. What started off as a simple solution to an error in scheduling has pushed me to both exceed my bounds and become a more worldly person. I shan't forget the teachers that brought me this far, nor experiences like I-NITE that truly took me outside of my comfort zone.

It is very important to be bilingual in America and all over the world. This goal helps me become more intelligent, more resourceful, and more interesting. This goal also increases my chances of getting a job, as being fluent in more than one language is highly valued in the working world.

In year 7 I chose to learn German as a language and after 5 years of learning, I have finally completed a GCSE course in German, I got a B overall (sadly I was aiming for A but I'm still happy). I feel that I have learnt a lot of skills that will come in handy when I travel.

I took both German and French for my GCSE's, it is good to have another language to speak for jobs but also for when you go to a country where they speak that language. I started learning the two languages in year 8 and now I am in year 10, doing some of my GCSE languages this year! Next year I will have my results and I really hope I have passed, if not at least I know the languages👍🏼

I have been studying Chinese at university for 3 years now. It has opened so many doors and given me the ability to be able to communicate with over a billion more people in the world. Learning a language has proven to be one of the most important things in my life.
