I learned Spanish through middle school and high school. Now in college I am learning American Sign Language. Spanish hasn't helped me so much, but I've gone to plenty of Deaf events where I was able to communicate with Deaf people through ASL alone.

English is really hard because you have different ways for say the same. But learn English also is interesting, and more when you can practice everyday.

In school we could pick to take French or Spanish. I took Spanish. It is went very well. And now I can have pretty good conversations with people. It is great, I really suggest learning as many languages as you can. So you can put things on your college application and just to talk to people in different countries.

Tips:

  • Pay attention in class
  • Do your homework (if you have any)
  • Don't use Google translate
  • Make flashcards
  • Study for tests and quizzes (if you have any)
  • Make quizzes for yourself
  • Try to have a whole conversation in that language
  • Talk as much as you can in the language

I hope these tips help you learn languages.

I've started learning English when I was 4. My mother language is Spanish and I'm Argentinian. When I was 11 I started going to an English institute. That same year, I took Movers A1 (Level 1 of 6). The next year I took KET A2 (Level 2 of 6). The year after that I took PET B1 (Level 3 of 6). All of them I passed with distinction, that means I'm in level 4. I'm 14 years old and I go to class with people that already finish High School. I still make mistakes like everyone but this personal achievement makes me want to keep improving myself at different languages

I took both German and French for my GCSE's, it is good to have another language to speak for jobs but also for when you go to a country where they speak that language. I started learning the two languages in year 8 and now I am in year 10, doing some of my GCSE languages this year! Next year I will have my results and I really hope I have passed, if not at least I know the languages👍🏼

We start learning English in 1st grade, but I couldn't speak it fluently until I went to the US as an exchange student in high school. I love languages, and the opportunities they give us!
