I tried to learn guitar by myself as I couldn't really afford the classes. It was great! I'm so proud of myself.

I bought a classical guitar as I dont really like the acoustic one. & I named it JJ. Hahaha weird name though.

It was a little hard as first and the tip of my fingers were in pain. But after awhile, i'm used to it.

Now I could play some songs on it and sing along too. I'm still mastering plucking so I hope that I could do fingerstyle songs soon!

I am still of course not a pro, and will never really "learn" how to play guitar, because there is so much more to learning an instrument than people think.... but hey!! I bought one and taught myself a few chords which allows to have a good time so that's a plus haha :D!!

My friend began teaching me May of 2013, continued though with it until June of 2014, then quit. I learned a lot and I liked it, but my brain's not too capable of learning notes and chords and scales and all that music jazz, so I put it aside.

I've begging my mum for over a year if I could learn how to play guitar. She said "No" because she thought I'm a lazy person. Then I tried to learn it by myself but it didn't work.I was almost giving up,but then my mum changed her mind.

I taught myself when I was 15! I was totally inspired after seeing The Runaways. I wanted to be Joan Jett. 😂 I'd say I'm a mediocre guitar player at best, but it still counts.

I can say, that after 2 and half years of practicing and learning on my own I kind of know, what I'm doing, when I'm holding my guitar.

In 8th grade I was forced to take a guitar class in school. I actually really learned the fundamentals and how to play several songs!

It was fun. Quite difficult in the beginning but made it happen. Fingers used to pain and did not had any teacher to teach me which made it more challending.

I started guitar lessons in 1997 when I was 6 years old. I took up to grade 4 electric guitar, and then switched to acoustic when I was 15. I participated in annual concerts with other musicians, and it was a really rewarding experience. I don't play much anymore, but I pick it up now and then and play something - it is a great form of expression and stress relief (:

I got my first guitar when I was 13.  I learned to read chords and play a few fun songs.  I'm not great but it's fun to pick up the guitar every once and awhile and strum out the songs I know.
