Awesome course, crowd and atmosphere - was just a shame my knee gave in a few miles in so had to hobble!

Running a marathon has been in my mental bucket list for as long as I can remember. In September 2015, I finally bit the bullet and signed up for my first marathon for May 2016. I managed to rope my friends Becky, Heather and James into signing up and then the training began. I did the majority of my long training runs with Heather which helped me massively with motivation and speed! I enjoyed the majority of my training runs, however I can still vividly remember the pain of running 20 miles on the hottest day of the year and then going into work for a nightshift straight after with two fresh blisters on the soles of my feet.  Limping around work in pain and being beyond exhausted is anything but fun!  Training wasn't all bad- especially when it came to the carb loading and tapering ;) just kidding.

With all the training out the way, I took the train to Edinburgh and stayed in a lovely Airbnb with James, Precilla and Judy. I loved seeing the sights and I especially liked the tour of Edinburgh Castle. The deep fried mars bar was a pleasant surprise. I didn't have the guts to try haggis.

On the day of the marathon, I was very nervous and felt very queasy in the morning. Running the marathon wasn't as hard as I thought it would be - I think I did the right amount of training for my first marathon. Overall, it was a great success and I ended up completing my first marathon with a time of 4 hours and 9 minutes. To celebrate we all went to a pub and I had chicken and chips and a glass of red wine! Perfect.

It was Terry Fox Marathon occured in HCMC. I was really excited to be one the people stream.

The feeling of reaching the finish line is wonderful, although it was a little bit tired since I had walked for like 3 hours

Ran the NYC marathon in 2008 and 2011 ... the 2008 experience was amazing and awesome and I loved it.  2011 was one minute faster, and many times worse.  Just a miserable race.  But I don't regret either one, and am so very very glad I pushed through and did it!

I ran my first ever marathon in just under three hours. It was the Marine Corps Marathon and I finished in 2:59.51, thus qualifying me for the Boston Marathon. Additionally, I was a top ten finisher in my age group and  had my name included in the Washington Post for placing in the top 500 (128th Overall).

I ran FUN RUN (10km) with my friends. We promised that we will run the Penang Bridge Marathon every year but something happened and we had stopped after 2013. It was a nice experience.

I ran a pretty regular marathon in Würzburg, the city where I live. It was my second overall and within this year and I am sure now, that I like marathons in big cities with a lot of participants much better.

Why not, I've done a half, how much harder can it be?  Okay, so maybe I have been thinking about this for a while and it seems impossible!  I seem to have lost the discipline to train so I am hoping by posting this I will be held more accountable to my words.

Wanaka half marathon is all down hill so I thought why not re-start my training with this!  I made the 4hr drive and completed it in 1:47hr without a bother then drove home the same day to go horse riding.  From here I continued, however I was lazy with my training.  The Christchurch Marathon was moving back to the city centre for the first time since the earthquakes and it was the 35th anniversary so I thought this would be a good marathon to complete as my first full marathon... plus right on my back door set!

I completed it in 4:03hr and felt great achieving 30th in the open women's division.  Not bad for a first attempt I though ;)

At the moment I ran at least 3 3k-5k marathons (MILO marathon, Run 4 Rice, Run as 1), and hope to be able to still do so in the future. :)
