There's a reason why Whister Blackcomb is consistently ranked as North America's #1 Ski Resort and that people travel from all around the world to get here - it boasts an incredibly large amount of terrain with a range for all skill levels and was a world class venue for the 2010 Winter Olympic games. I live in Vancouver so I'm pretty lucky that I can come and ski/snowboard for several hours and enjoy some apres-ski before heading back home all in one day. I first tried snowboarding on Whistler mountain in 2003.

So, why is it on my list? Several reasons!

1) For this 2014/15 ski season, the conditions were a bit spotty so I didn't make it up! This is to make sure I go up next year!

2) To remind myself not to take this place for granted. As mentioned above, Whistler attracts international visitor from all corners of the world and I'm really grateful to come here on short notice. 3) Well, it would appear that I've been crossing things off my list even before I had a "bucket list" :) And sometimes, that's the best way to get motivated and get through whatever your list is - by seeing what you've already accomplished! On my personal blog, my30before30.com, I added "do a 180 snowboarding" to that list. Didn't get to try that this year but at least I've been to Whistler :)

Did it and loved it!  First time ever on the snow, however also cracked my sternum whilst doing it!  Didn't realise so kept boarding as only had a few days.  Beautiful spot but yes I was in some pain after a few days on the mountain, had to trade my backpack in for a case with wheels ha!
