April 2013, I went to China on a school trip, started in Beijing where we visited the Great Wall, the hutongs, silk market, summer palace, the forbidden city, tianimen square, the temple of heaven and acrobat shows then went Shijiazhuang to visit a high school we were paired with. We then took the fast train to Shanghai and Suzhou from Beijing, visiting the Pearl, the bund, the Jade Buddha Temple, Suzhou's canals before flying home via Dubai.

Visited while teaching a class in Beijing. Weekends are crowded at major tourist spots such as Badaling. Go somewhere more remote if you can, or at least on a weekday morning. My great thanks to my friend Tao Xu for playing tour guide and driving me around. I hope to return!

Totally worth it!

During a trip to Shanghai to visit a friend, we planned a last minute trip to Beijing in order to see the Great Wall of China and the forbidden city. It was amazing in the end!

It was during winter time and I didn't realised just how massive the great wall of China was.

Starting in Beijing, China. Take a tour of the wall, experience as much of the cultures history as possible.

Charity walk with neighbours The wild wall was pretty impresive, the bits near Beijing were heaving with people which I found scary

One of the most awe inspiring places in the world. I was fortunate enough to go to a part of the wall that had no one else on it and i walked 3.3 miles of it with no one else around me, taking in the restored modern part of the wall the older restored parts and the original still standing but completely over grown parts that are held together with tree's. I can not stress the feeling of being on the wall and i recommend to everyone to go there and to walk some of it. Take it in be quiet and ignore all technology while you're there.

Though I am a little bit disappointed discovering you cannot see it from space, it would be cool to see.

Upload pictures later (DONE)

I went with a bunch of my Chinese friends to the Great Wall near Beijing. Because it was pouring in the morning, their weren't many other tourists to share the view with which was great. Climbing the wall was tiring and gave me the first sun burn of my life, but it was incredibly fun and I can't wait to explore other parts of the wall.
