I went to Tokyo for the first time and it was a great experience. The people there were so nice and friendly. The food was amazing especially the beef. I was in love with Tokyo. I went on a tour to see MT. Fuji which was the only disappointment as it rained a lot and it was to foggy to see the mountain but I still count that as an experience. I saw the rainbow bridge, Tokyo Tower, The metropolitan Govt Buildings observatory floor to get a great view of Tokyo. I saw the famous scramble cross walks and tried beef that melts in your mouth and was the best beef i have ever eaten. I would love to go back to Japan again before my time abroad ends.
We visited Tokyo as part of a whirlwind tour of Japan in 2016.
There are 47 neighbourhoods in Japan and each has its own unique, distinctive charateristics.
From the neon highrise and zany advertising of Shinjuku to the cutesy teen mecca of Harajuku.
There's the gorgeous traditional temple at Asakusa and a sensory electronic overload of Akihabara.
We spent a night in a crazy plastic capsule hotel, visited the serene beauty of Nikko National Park, necked Sake like a local and people watched in Piss Alley.
Tokyo is a wonderland, a heady mix of technological optimism and beautiful traditions.
From the oddly netured sexuality of Maid Cafes, to the endless rows of sleeping metro commuters, school girls on swings with samari swords to Hello Kitty roadworks, it's a blend of the sublime and the ridiculous.
If your experience is anything like ours you'll feel both alien yet strangely at home. When can I go back!!!
I had an amazing time in Tokyo with my sister in February 2016! I had an incredible experience and i think i really learnt a lot from my first trip outside Australia. I can't think of a better way to have celebrated my high school graduation and the start of my adulthood - a pretty new chapter of my life.
Must do again, very fun!
