1st time visiting a US National Park with family. Took us about 4 days driving around and see all the beauties of nature. It could be better if the weather was better (it was raining half of the time).

Visited Yellowstone at the tail end of a long road trip in May 2013.  Went back again in September 2014.

This is a beautiful park with so much to see. You probably can never see it all, but after 2 trips I have seen quite a bit of it. However, there are still areas I would like to explore.

As part of an epic family road trip, we took time to travel through Yellowstone National Park. My favorite memory from this visit was waiting for Old Faithful to erupt. We arrived and sat down to wait for the eruption - a mere 45 minutes away. As we sat on the pier, it started to rain lightly. The rain continued for 20 minutes, and then started to come down in sheets. We were completely unprepared for rain, and sitting there soaked, we could only laugh as it started to hail. My husband and son decided this would be a good time to run around the boardwalk, while my daughter and I thought it may help to hide under some trees. It felt like we had been there for an hour, waiting. Drenched and disappointed, we started to head away from the smoking no-show of a gyser. Just then, it erupted, and my kids ran laughing and screaming toward the gushing stream of water shooting more than 700 feet into the air. We were soaked to the bones, but we were happy we came to see this amazing natural wonder!

Not going to lie, road trip partner and I slept in our car - because the camp sites were tiny. Also, because we were scared of wild life. But very cool to see not only Old Faithful but the largest concentration of geysers anywhere in the world!

Yellowstone is one of those places I could return again and again. The first time I took the kids so they couold experience the best of Yellowstone; I'd like to return and enjoy it during every season of the year....sadly there's too much in the world to enjoy!

Was able to see the beautiful waterfalls and get soaked through my clothes.  Totally worth the long drive and intense August heat. :)
