In 2013 my family and I went to San Francisco but we weren't able to walk the Golden Gate Bridge due to time and weather. After a bad break up I drove to San Francisco to clear my mind in this beautiful city. The first day I got there I walked on the Golden Gate Bridge and drove across it! This road trip made me fall over heels for this city even more ! I can't wait till I move there
Biggest adventure during my San Francisco visit was to cycle across the Golden Gate Bridge. Went with 3 of my travel buddies, and we rented the bikes from the pier around 4pm. They told us that we had to reach Sausalito, a small town on the other side of the bridge by 7pm to catch the last ferry back and estimated the journey to be around 2.5 hours. HAHA never did we expect that by 630pm we just reached the Golden Gate Bridge and had only half an hour to race to Sausalito. It was already dark and there were no clear directions to Sausalito and we were lost for a good 15 minutes. The 5 minutes we spent racing down the hills of Sausalito was the fastest 5 minutes I've ever cycled in my life.
I ran across, and back, from the Presidio of San Francisco
Walked from the Marin/Sausalito side back to SF. Great views!
I biked on it, in 2012
I live in San Francisco and do that almost every week :) I love it here.
My homecare client and I were couchsurfing down the California coast. We had our host drop us off in Sausalito at the North end of the bridge I pushed her over it in her wheelchair with our bags slung across our backs. halfway across, we stopped and I scattered the remainder of my son's ashes that i had brought on the trip into the bay below
It was cold but a memorable experience!
With Pawan after our engagement :)
Walked on the Golden Gate Bridge with my sister Norma, my brother-in-law Bill, and my nephew Austin. It was really foggy that day and we could not see the bridge until we were on it. Crippy and fun!
Amazing view and the breeze on your face.. Loved it!
It was in Jan 2016, little cold but had great fun. Would suggest people to go in summer and at dawn preferably.
Can't remember much but I was excited to touch the bridge LOL (geek)
I did this once with my dad and one of my brothers when I was about eleven and again with my husband. With my dad we only walked about half before he had to head back and sit down. With my husband we walked the whole way.
