Karuna's Goal

DONE, Sep 2018 - Aug 2019: I just re-read some of my work that is now published online, and I feel exposed - still scared/worried that I said something stupid or wrong or overly emo. I only achieved this goal through connecting with two people that valued my story enough to pay me to share some of it. It wasn't much, but it gave my words a sense of impetus and legitimacy. This goal challenged me to explain my sometimes convolted thinking, develop a process to capture and amplify my authentic voice, and face my fear of criticism. While it still takes me so much effort and courage to write to be read, I am motivated by the joy, belonging and justified pride that comes from sharing how I see the world.

The goal: at least 300 words submitted for critique or publication by someone else (not self-published) each month for twelve months.

WHY: My story has value and my experiences can help others. And I have more freedom the more people know about me. One day, I would like to publish a book. But first, I need to build the habit of writing and putting my words out there in any form possible. Publish via Facebook, Steem-it, e-zines or magazines...
