With my 'Young Enterprise' company I called Just Because agreed with by my 14 colleagues we decided that home-made scented candles in recycled jars would be both a good and profitable-enough product. Round my house we made the candles- vanilla, lavender, tropical, roses, blueberry, cinnamon and more scents. We sold them at fairs where a few colleagues and I sold them from a trade stand where the candles were popular dragging people over to the nice smells.
Officially I was my role was Founder specialising in ICT yet when some of my colleagues weren't as involved as I was I ended up doing their workloads so I got to experience starting a company, running the company, creating a product, social media awareness & advertising, brochure & poster creation, sales & distribution, presentations, collecting jars, wax melting, dealing with colleagues concerns and complaints, finances and the general keeping of company morale.
I learnt a great deal through this experience and we did quite well in the end though only a handful of our company pulled our weight it was because of this that I got the opportunity to take on so many roles. Now we have sold all our product we are satisfied to move on and dissolve our little company.
