We traveled to Washington, D.C. for my birthday over the weekend, and stayed at the Best Western by Dulles Airport in Virginia. The room wasn't tiny, but it was cramped. Like they tried to put too much in the room, or stuffed it with furniture that didn't fit. It was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. However, it was difficult to get onto the bed for someone as short as me. The mattresses are VERY thick and on top of thick box springs, so you pretty much have to climb onto the bed. Don't expect to be able to just sit down unless you're pretty tall. My sister is considerably taller than me and the bed was still a bit tall. Other than the cramped room and tall beds, the continental breakfast was 8/10 good, the staff was polite and the grounds were clean and quiet. We didn't use the pool, because it's still early April. The first day, Friday, we drove to D.C. from our hotel, and traffic was horrible. That's to be expected by the airport and so close to the city. On Saturday, we took an Uber into the city. A bit pricey, but we got there much quicker, there was less traffic, and didn't have to worry about getting lost. From there we took the Metro where we needed to go and took another Uber back to the hotel for the night. We drove into the city again on Sunday to do some shopping and there was considerably less traffic. We explored a bit of the Dulles area, did some shopping and ate dinner there on Friday night. Overall, we would stay here again. We'll just have to remember a foldable step stool!
