Ever since I could actually more or less pay for my own tokens or souvenirs I have made an attempt to at least gather something from my trips so that I can remember them along with the memories.
The honey and geode were from an apple festival that I went with a boyfriend, the ceramic platter was from the Haskell Indian Art Mart while the messy overcrowded shelf are my recent adventures with my husband. Yes I need a bigger spot and a better way to show off our tokens.
What makes it unique, though, are the different experiences by each. The white fur is shedded winter coat from a live tiger, the brown fur the eagle is sitting on in the focal is bison hair from shedding bison in Alma, the T-rexs are suggestive of our time at a KU informative event about digging up T-rex fossils while also opening the museum up after hours. There is the Marais de Cygnus River Car Show, the Nauvoo prairie diamond rings, the glasses from out attempts to see the full solar eclipse of 2017 and even a little greyhound from the Abilene Greyhound Hall of Fame.
These are just the startings of our numerous trips together and some were with a friend that we can no longer include so it is also rather poignant for me.
