For 3 weeks I volunteered at Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre in Wales. It was one of the best times of my life. The time was spent either running the visitor shop, filling out databases, photo IDing dolphins and the best part was the boat trips looking for and researching dolphins, porpoises, grey seals and any other marine life we spotted.

I can’t really describe my feeling the first time I spotted a dolphin on the boat trip other than pure excitement.

Not only was the work fantastic, but the people I got to meet and make friends with was also a major plus. While I was there, there were also volunteers from Germany and America, and was so fun to meet people with the same interests. We had many a great laugh in the evenings spent either at the local pub or in one of our volunteer caravans playing board games.

If I could have stayed in Wales and get a job doing this I definitely would have!
