Total sensory overload. the altimeter attached to my wrist might as well have been a blender. i remember looking at it, but not really comprehending what was happening since it was so loud (didn't expect that.) At the preliminary session they said, "sometimes people forget to pull the chute." I'm thinkin, "What idiot would forget to pull their chute?" Well, that idiot was me. When the guy strapped to my back pulled it all of a sudden there was silence. Total, complete silence. Then the motion sickness set in. All I could think about was, "Please don't let me throw up on this nice young man." Perfect landing. I just laid in the grass exhilarated, but glad to be on terra firma.
