Never thought I'd love a city. This city seduces you, slowy, but surely. Walked 6 to 7 hours a day. Ate the freshest food. Saw the shrine decorated with monk's bones. Sistine Chapel was amazing. and look....around the corner you have the place where Ceasar was killed. Every nook and cranny has history oozing out of it. Walk along the same cobblestones the conquering Roman armies walked on. The baths, the colliseum. Almost got pickpocketed by some gypsies. Drank warm liquid chocolate next to the Pantheon. Stood in the Pantheon while it was raining. Eating gelato on the Spanish Steps. Watching the artists in Piazza Navona while eating flatbread sandwich from a hole in the wall. Trevi fountain at night. Huge 5 course meal at a restaurant by the bed and breakfast where no one spoke English. I had the best meal without knowing what the heck I was eating. I must've eaten brain or some other organ meat in some delicious sauce. Another restaurant with fresh apples and proscuitto. Another restaurant with profiteroles - it's pastry, puddinglike center drizzled with chocolate. Walking Via Condotti at night and drinking the wine.
