When I first met my future wife Anna in 2012, it didn't take me very long to realize that she was the love of my life, which to be honest freaked me out, seeing as I was only 19 at the time. I never wanted to answer "yes" when people asked me if I thought that she was the one, because I wasn't sure. Time would only tell, even though I always said that I'd be stoked if she turned out to be.
Almost 3 years later, she was still my life's love. We had traveled the world together, grown to love each others families, struggled and prevailed, and never turned our backs on each other, no matter how hard it got. After getting home from a summer abroad, living out my life's first real love of international travel, I knew that Anna was the one I wanted, more than travel or anything else. I spoke first with my father about it, then my mother, followed by grandparents, my best friends, and eventually her father for formal permission to marry his daughter. During this process a bought a ring with a family heirloom diamond. Then, finally, on September 7th, in a historic park's gazebo in my hometown, I asked my best friend to be my wife. She said yes, and truly made me the happiest man in the world..!
