After an hour or so, and a couple of wrong turns onto logging roads; we ended up at the parking lot of the trail. It was a beautiful Easter Sunday, and more people hitting the trail that day than I expected. It was about 12:30 when my girlfriend, my dog and I got out of our cramped ford wagon and stretched our legs. A quick double check of the bags and we signed the trail roster and were on our way. On the way in we took the 4.5 mile trail; knowing we wouldnt take the long way back on our way out. It was a nice cool day, and we took our time enjoying all the wild flower blooms, ferns as far as you can see. Just engulfed by nature, and only seeing the smiling faces of people coming back up the trail to the starting point. About a mile into the trail theres a smaller waterfall with a quaint bridge going over a run off creek. A perfect spot to stop and let your dog cool off. It took us about 2 hours to get to the observation deck to the feather falls( The seventh highest waterfall in the US... I think). The waterfalls size is stunning. We soaked it in,got our pictures and hiked a little bit back up the trail where we ate our lunch. On the way back the 3.3 mile trail felt like it was taking us way out. My dog was worn out, as well as my girls feet. Just when they thought they couldnt go any more we got to another stream. Where we filled our water bottles up, washed our faces and cooled down. After 8 miles round trip. We were all glad to see our beat up ford wagon, get in and enjoy the ride home. Definitely recommend it
