I work in a call center and before we started this whole "let's build rapport with the customer" I would be chatting up with some of them. Back in 2009 or 2010 I had a nice conversation with a man while we got on the subject of trying new foods while somehow alligator was brought into the picture, which I haven't had.
My customer told me that I need to try it and that it tastes like chicken. I told him if I ever came across a place that was selling it I would most definitely do so. So far the count for VA and alligator meat is 0 lol.
~Update Mar 11, 2020~
Went to Terrebonne Cafe on Vermont St and chose to go along with trying the gator po'boy. It didn't taste like chicken to me while it was a bit fishy but still chewy. Otherwise would I make it a staple of my diet, probably not, but at least it was a chance to try something new.
