Test drive a Tesla Model S

Ever since the Model S was introduced, I have wanted to take one out for a test drive. I'm not the kind of person who test drives a lot of cars - I don't even know too much about cars, like I don't geek-out on them like I've noticed other people who are really into cars do. The Model S was the first great looking electric car with exceptional performance targeted to a mass market. Visionary Elon Musk knows that a true revolution can only be achieved through mass adoption of technology- and so, there is clear investment in making this vehicle feel both innovative and familiar. There are accessible novelties, like the flush door handles. But plenty of familiar experiences to put the gas-powered culture at ease (like the Creep mode, which has the vehicle creep forward when you let go of the brake like an automatic car would do). Of course, the thrill of Tesla acceleration is what really gets you in the door and into the drivers seat. I wanted to have that same moment as all the YouTube videos, eyes suddenly widening, head and shoulders pressed back into the seat, a giddy laugh of excitement as the car took off at Ludicrous Speed (tm) (yes, that is the branded name for the feature). It's a different dream and a goal to someday own a Tesla Model S, but for today I can check off the test drive as Mission Accomplished.
