The London Eye certainly has a lot of hype, and when London has suprisingly fewer major tourist options than expected, this glorified Ferris wheel seems like a must-do. However, when I was recently giving travel recommendations to somebody visiting London, I realized that the London Eye should not be anyone's number one priority in London, especially during a short stay. Of course, the views can't be found anywhere else, so that is the sole reason that makes the London Eye worth its while. Nevertheless, if you've ever ridden a Ferris wheel, which is quite likely, the overall experience of the London Eye will be nothing revolutionary. So, in short, the London Eye is worth it for the views, the photos, and, of course, the ability to say that you've ridden the London Eye, but it's no tragedy if this one isn't crossed off your bucket list.
