The arrow represented a lifelong challenge that one could breakthrough it by facing it head-on, using the soft notch at the base of one's neck. It took incredible courage to take that one decisive step forward. When the arrow broke, I was overcome by tears. I thought of what that arrow meant to me - how much pain it had caused, how much more pain it would have caused and how I was able to use vulnerability as a strength to overcome one of my greatest fears. Now when I find myself in a trigger situation, I remember: "I ALREADY BROKE THIS ARROW".
