Most definitely enjoyed this trip for the day was bright and sunny, which was emphasized by the bright yellow of the sunflower heads themselves, yet just had that nip of chill that comes with mornings around this time of year. The butterflies were out in force even the rare monarch that wouldn't stay still long enough along with honeybees and some other insects that I couldn't identify.

We had a really pregnant woman take a few couple shots of us with the field behind us before plowing into its core. Like the fluttering butterflies we picked our way from flower head to flower head trying to capture the beauty of the insects as they supped on the cheerful flowers. And further on we pressed seeking to escape the few other morning guests while hunting down the perfect shot to capture our time here.

All in all it was pure beauty.....

Having almost reached the farthest edge we turned around to fight our ways through the thick stalks and make it back to where we started. From there we chose to stop by the store after Cody used the bathroom to see what we could find and as a result we bought a snapshot of the flowers, a bracelet and a magnet as well as a homemade cinnamon roll with a Dr. Pepper. Taking our impromptu breakfast out to the porch we sat at the table facing the field to enjoy the calm start of day before heading back home.
